So. Carolina’s King Grabs Warrior Honor

April 2nd, 2024 General News | Auburn | Boise State | Cal Poly | Chapman | Florida | Purdue | South Carolina | Texas | Arizona State

ATLANTA – After leading South Carolina to a huge victory against a Top 10 subdivisional rival, Gamecocks senior long-stick midfielder Charlie King has been named the MCLA Division I Warrior Player of the Week for the period ending March 31.

South Carolina entertained fellow SELC North division rival Georgia Tech on Saturday and thanks to the end-to-end play of the Columbia, S.C., product, the ninth-ranked Gamecocks were able to pull off the mild upset of the eighth-ranked Yellow Jackets.

King finished with numerous caused turnovers and even tacked on a critical goal.

“By every metric, Charlie King is one of the most threatening LSMs in the country,” said South Carolina coach Dakota Kirsch-Downs. “He hunts down short sticks and takes what he wants. His contribution to this team is immeasurable.”

For his efforts earning the Warrior Player of the Week, King will receive a Warrior Burn XP2-D – a $120 value. Warrior is a proud sponsor of the MCLA.
